Immigration fence bill is a phony
Immigration fence bill is a phony
Bait and switch. That's what Congress did to pass the immigration bill calling for a 700-mile fence to be built along the U.S.-Mexican border. While Republicans brag on the measure during the campaign, they won't tell you that they way underfunded it, or that the White House doesn't even plan to spend the scanty funds that are available on the fence.

The Augusta Chronicle's story "Comcastic calls ringing in area" (Aug. 29), about developments in the telecommunications market, missed a critical piece of the digital puzzle. Residents must support their airport
The letter "Airport service was unacceptable" (Sept. 12) is typical of the complaints we receive at Augusta Regional Airport. The writer had a bad airline experience, but rather than hold the airline accountable, she chose to criticize the airport. Further, she implied that she will no longer travel from the Augusta airport, and will drive to another airport. This ultimately hurts both the writer and the community.

Giving boys oral sex at party is irresponsible, dangerous
THIS WEEK'S PROBLEM: Several girls in my school are having oral sex with boys. They say this isn't really sex, that you won't get any sexually transmitted diseases, and you won't lose your virginity if you do it. They are trying to get me to go to an oral sex party where the girls perform oral sex on the boys. The girls decide which boy to do it with by drawing cards, spinning the bottle ... Do I lose my virginity by having oral sex with a boy? Can you get any diseases from doing this? Will people think I am trash if I do this? It seems like the boys selfishly use the girls at these parties, because I haven't heard about any boys performing oral sex on any girls.
