In 1992, he was elected to the Richmond County Board of Education, where he served in the capacities of President and Chairman of the Building Committee. Mr. Stein was active in several community organizations: the Evening Optimist Club, Richmond County Board of Elections, Richmond County Board of Health, CSRA Classic, Richmond County Board of Retired Teachers Association and the Juneteenth Society of Augusta. He was a member of Williams Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church where he was a loyal member and served diligently as a Trustee and Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Dodson was a native of Schneider, IN. He was a graduate of Springfield High School in Springfield, Oregon. He had lived in the Augusta area for the past 46 years and was a graduate of the Augusta Business School. Mr. Dodson served in the U.S. Army as Photographer, where he met and photographed many interesting people, including Ike Eisenhower. He retired from the Medical College of Georgia after serving 13 years in the Central Energy Dept. as the Energy Services Technician. He also worked for Bi-Lo Grocery Store as a manager for 13 years. Mr. Dodson was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church. His family said he was the most wonderful husband, father, "Papa" and friend anyone could ever have. She served on numerous committees within the church and devoted her life to serving God. She was a very special person who touched the lives of numerous people with a kind word and a soft handshake.
