Ruby Schrade (NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.)



NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Entered into rest Thursday, morning, October 5, 2006 at her home, Mrs. Ruby Darlene Schrade, 55, of North Augusta, SC, much loved wife of Commander Larry Schrade, United States Navy, Retired. Born in Manassas, VA, she was the daughter of James Bostic Sr Fredericksburg, VA and Alice Bradley, Manassas, VA. Ruby obtained a Nursing degree from Northern Virginia College. She had been a resident of North Augusta, SC since 1991, was of the Lutheran faith and retired from Leavelle McCampbell Middle School in 1999 where she had been the supervisor of In-School Suspension. Ruby enjoyed crafting and sewing and was so very proud that she got to see her latest grandchild, Byron, born on July 29. In addition to her husband of twenty-seven years, CDR Larry Schrade and her mother and father, she is survived by daughters, Laural Whitt, (John) North Augusta, SC and Kimberly Hill, Fredricksburg, VA; son, Jason Downs, (Curry) Austin, TX; brother, James Bostic Jr, Ocala, FL; sisters, Anne Cruz, Centerville, VA; Elizabeth Vaquera, Fredricksburg, VA, and Patricia Childress, Ocala, FL; and her most treasured grandchildren, Damian Whitt, Byron Whitt, William Hill, and Kayleigh Hill; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, afternoon, October 7, 2006 at 5 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC, with Pastor Reilly Hammond celebrant. At her request, Ruby will be cremated and entombment will be held Sunday, afternoon, October 8, 2006 at 2 o'clock at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Graniteville, SC. Honorary Pallbearers will be employees of the Aiken County Sheriffs Department Cpl. Kathy Meredith, Capt. Creight Henderson, Lt. Billy Widener, Lt. Lewis Meredith, Lt. Al Ward and Danny Raynes, Hazel Sturgill, Destiny Patterson, Lorie Scott, Winnie Brantley, and Dianne Hightower. The family has asked that memorials in memory of Ruby be made to The American Diabetes Association, P.O.
