Mr. Stokes was born June 1, 1935 in Albany GA to the late Cay Guyton Stokes and Vivian Carter Stokes. He graduated from Albany High School in 1954. Upon graduation from the University of Georgia Warnell School of Forestry, he began a long career in the Forestry industry. In 1961, he moved to Swainsboro as an area forester for Rayonier, Inc. In 1966 he established Stokes Consulting Foresters and continued to operate the business until his death, making it the oldest Forest Management firm in the area. Mr. Stokes promoted his chosen profession through the Society of Consulting Foresters, Society of American Foresters and The Georgia Forestry Association. He served for 12 years on the Georgia State Board of Registration for Foresters. He was a long time member of the Steadfast Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church in Swainsboro. Ms. Robertson was a nurse and nursing professor for over 40 years. Having been a very active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church for over 40 years, as well as a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church during her 12 years as a resident of Augusta, GA, she has been a member of Christ Lutheran Church since her return to Charlotte. Ms. Robertson enjoyed participating in the Women's Bible Study Class at Christ Church. An excellent seamstress, she was known for having made Easter dresses and bridal gowns for her daughters and still quilted once a week at Christ Lutheran Church. Ms. Robertson was a "loving, loving, loving" mother as well as an extremely loving grandmother.
