Pink event will aid cancer awareness
The Medical College of Georgia Cancer Center's "In The Pink" party to raise awareness of breast cancer will be at 7 p.m. Friday, at Julian Smith Casino. It will feature music by Bobby Hydrick and food by Very Vera. A raffle and silent auction will feature items such as trips and home-and-garden design packages.
Tickets are $40 and include two drink tickets.

'I DO'
In a strange twist of the cosmos, Meg McCarty found out that the guy to whom she had introduced herself to at a college Christmas party had just moved to her hometown.
Despite having mutual friends, she had never met Danny Levie, but they hit it off from their first conversation in 2003.
"We met right before Christmas break, and when I came home for that month in between fall and spring semester, we hung out all during the break," she said. "When we went back to school for the spring, we were dating."
Neither saw it coming.
"I went to the party, and I was single and ready to mingle. I didn't want to date anybody at the time. He was the same way," she confessed. "Never say never."
After a sunset proposal, the couple exchanged vows Saturday at Sandersville United Methodist Church in Sandersville, Ga.
