EARLY VOTING

Absentee ballots for the Nov. 7 general election will be available beginning Monday for all eligible voters. To be eligible to cast an absentee ballot in person at the Richmond County Board of Elections office, a person must be registered to vote and must provide a reason for casting an absentee ballot.

Office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Absentee ballots issued through the mail also will be available beginning Monday. Any eligible voter requesting an absentee ballot through the mail must submit a request in writing to the elections board office.

The application must state the voter's name, address, date of birth and the date of the election.

The application can be mailed to the Board of Elections office at 530 Greene St., Room 104, Augusta, GA 30911, or faxed to (706) 821-2814.

Advance voting will be held Oct. 30 through Nov. 3 at the elections board office; at the Henry Brigham Recreation Center at 2463 Golden Camp Road; and at the Warren Road Recreation Center at 300 Warren Road.

Hours for advance voting will be from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily during advance voting week. No absentee ballots will be issued or cast on the Monday before the election. For more information call (706) 821-2340.
