Do you think the state education lottery is benefitting area schools?
"If the money is going there, yeah. It would help them get computers, new books and maybe get the teachers raises. It takes a lot to put up with those kids. They deserve every penny they get - and maybe more."
- Sharon Benner
"I see where it does help out. My oldest one's in school at Redcliffe Elementary and they give you a list of school supplies the kids need, and if people couldn't get all the supplies, the school would get it for them. I think it's better over here than in Georgia. I went to school over there and if we couldn't get supplies, we just didn't have them."
- Christina Miller
"No, because if it was, why do (schools) keep trying to do all kinds of fundraisers? I don't see where it's going. I think they call it an education lottery to make it sound good, but I don't think it's really going there. I think it's being used for unnecessary stuff, but we'll never know."
- Chiquita Washington
"I don't think it's benefitting college. If it is, why does tuition keep going up? And I don't think it's benefitting public schools - elementary school fees just went up, too."
- Jennifer Chisolm
"No. I don't think they're using it for what they should be using it for. I graduated from high school last year and I never seen or heard of any of the benefits of the education lottery. I never heard of anyone that's gotten anything from it. I don't know where it goes."
