Rants and raves

THIS IS A RAVE for the Aiken EMS service I received on Thursday night recently. It was very compassionate and professional service, and I appreciate it so much.

I AGREE WITH the person complaining about Aiken County school registration fees. How can the Blue Ribbon School have a "Smart board" in all of the classes but need to charge a registration fee.

RAVES TO THE CITY of North Augusta for replacing not one but all of the American flags along the 13th Street bridge. They look wonderful.

WHAT DOES IT take to stop the bullying at Paul Knox Middle School and North Augusta Middle School? The staff at these schools either cannot or will not.

I'D LIKE TO RANT about the diary of the first-year teacher. The teacher might benefit from reading how veteran educators start the year. We all know that cooperative learning doesn't work, and, by the way, why reward behavior that should be expected of the kids? She appears to be getting the kids ready for elementary school not high school work.

I WAS READING the Carolina Chronicle from the Sunday paper and reading the police bookings. You know, out of curiosity, I read it. But there's this one particular person who keeps showing up like every other week for public drunkenness. How many times does one have to be arrested before they finally just lock them up and throw away the key? I'm getting kind of tired of seeing this guy's name in the paper like every other week. I'm just curious. You know, you'd think if you got arrested so many times you'd end up staying in jail permanently or something, or at least spend so many years in jail. I was just curious, but he's in the paper like every other week or so, and this has been going on for the past year or so. My husband and I always look and see if his name is in there, and we always notice it in there.

WHY IS GAS $2.16 in South Carolina and $2.35 in Augusta? Is it not time to boycott Circle K in Augusta until we get back to fair pricing? A serious boycott will do the trick!

THIS IS A DEFINITE rant for the people who keep riding their horses on the streets through our residential neighborhood. Have some respect, people! Please, clean up behind your horses. I don't want to drive my car through your mess any more than you want to step in my dog's mess.

A RAVE FOR ELAINE at Don Robinson's State Farm in North Augusta. She is always very helpful and friendly, a true asset to the office.

WHY IS IT THAT a home in Bath was destroyed because of its use to sell and manufacture drugs, when a house in North Augusta on Ashley Circle was just auctioned off.

TO THE FOLKS WHO live in River Hills subdivision: How would you feel leaving for work with dog mess on your shoes, brake and gas pedals and carpet in your vehicle? Two times in three weeks. We do have a leash law in Edgefield County.

WHAT IS LINDSEY Graham working harder at - protecting American citizens from terrorist attacks or protecting the rights of captured terrorists? Seems to me it's the latter. He's an embarrassment.

THIS A RAVE for Laura Ingraham, one of the brightest people in television today. She finally wised up to what a wimp Lindsey Graham is and dumped him. Way to go, Laura.
