AIKEN - A 37-year-old Aiken man treated cops to a drive-by peep show from his car, ending his good time and landing him in jail.
Tracy Pope, of the 100 block of Jack Jones Street, was arrested early Thursday, accused of driving while watching porn.
According to a police report from the Aiken Department of Public Safety, Mr. Pope drove his GMC Yukon by officers walking on Kershaw Street.
They could clearly see a television suspended from the ceiling, the report states, and they "immediately noticed the movie being displayed on the monitor was pornographic."
Police caught up with Mr. Pope on Union Street - and "once again had an unobstructed view of the video still playing the sexually explicit material" - and pulled him over on nearby Hampton Avenue.
He was charged with felony disseminating or promoting obscenity and the misdemeanor traffic violation of having a television in view of the driver.
Lt. David Turno, a spokesman for the agency, said the felony charge is appropriate when a child younger than 12 could have been exposed to the porn.
Along with the DVD that was playing, officers seized four other pornographic movies from the center console, along with two CDs.
