POLO CHAMPIONSHIP: The USPA Gold Cup Polo Championship will begin at 4 p.m. today, Sept. 24 and Oct. 1 at the New Bridge Polo and Country Club, 836 New Bridge Road, Aiken. Gates will open at 2 p.m., and the polo pavilion will open at 3 p.m. General admission costs $6 in advance and $10 at the gate. AIKEN REPUBLICAN CLUB: The club's meeting will be at Newberry Hall, 117 Newberry St., Aiken. The social time is at 11:30 a.m., and lunch will be served at noon. CONSTITUTION DAY: Augusta Technical College will hold Constitution Day ceremonies at 1:45 p.m. in the atrium of Building 1000, the college's Information Technology Center. Ceremonies will include the reading of the preamble of the U.S. Constitution, which was signed by the Constitutional Convention on Sept. 17, 1787. For more information, call (706) 771-4019.

RICHMOND COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS: The board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. to consider a challenge to Augusta Mayor Deke Copenhaver's eligibility to run for re-election and a request to delay printing of November ballots. It will also discuss polling locations for precincts 304 and 310.
