TV TONIGHT

- In the news special Genius: Quest for Extreme Brain Power, medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta examines the mysteries behind genius and attempts to answer the classic nature/nurture question of whether high intelligence is inborn or the product of environment. The show airs at 10 on CNN.

- For its 10th go-around, Emmy-winning juggernaut The Amazing Race introduces a new set of globe-trotting contestants vying for the $1 million prize. Their itinerary includes stops in China, Vietnam, Madagascar and Kuwait. One of the competing duos is made up of a father and daughter who became estranged after she revealed she was gay. They're hoping to rebuild their bond during the game. The show airs at 8:30 on CBS (WRDW, Channel 12).

Now in its 10th year, the Scotch Brand Most Gifted Wrapper contest, sponsored by 3M, will be held Dec. 1 in New York City's Rockefeller Center.
