CHARLESTON, S.C. - Mrs. Joyce Elizabeth Lloyd Morelli, 76, wife of James K. Morelli, Sr. of Charleston, died September 8, 2006 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Morelli was born July 8, 1930 in Charleston to the late James Hogan Lloyd, Sr. and Alice Amelia Canady Lloyd. She was a graduate of Memminger High School, St. Francis Hospital's X-Ray Technician School, and attended the College of Charleston. She retired from the SC Department of Environmental Heath Control as coordinator of the Immunization Program at the Charleston County Health Department. Mrs. Morelli, her husband James and son Anthony started the Morelli Heating and Air Conditioning Company where she served as the secretary and treasurer. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Hogan Lloyd, Jr. Mrs. Morelli is survived by James, her beloved husband of 56 years, her best friend and soul mate always; her five sons, Mr. & Mrs. James Kenneth Morelli, Jr. (Michelle) of Johns Island, Mr. & Mrs. Gary Lloyd Morelli (Lee) of Tybee Island, GA, Mr. & Mrs. John Lawrence Morelli (Eda) of Aiken, SC, Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Paul Morelli ( Lisa) of Charleston, SC and Mr. & Mrs. Anthony (Tony & Joyce) Morelli of James Island, SC; her daughter, Mrs. Angela Morelli Prince (Rick) of James Island, SC; fifteen grandchildren, Stuart, Betsy, Steven, Melanie, Kevin, Matthew, Mary, Natalie, Frank, Amanda, Annalise, Payton Morelli, Michael, Amelia, Riley Prince and two step grandsons, Stuart and Elliot Miller; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. James H. Lloyd, Jr. (Doris) and Mrs. Arthur Jones (Ruth), both of Charleston, SC; four very special friends, Patricia Hull Morelli of Savannah, GA, Delores Irwin Wrenn, Deborah Kastner Morelli of Snellville, GA and Christiana Murray of Johns Island, SC. The family wishes to express thanks and gratitude to : Chris Hawk, III, M.D. and his staff; James Orcutt, M.D., and his staff; the staff of Hospice of Charleston, SC, especially Leesa Oliver, Kristie Higdbon, Amanda Lathem and "Teeta"; and all of the family and friends who supported us with their prayers and love. She loved her husband whom she never wanted to ever be separated from, her children of whom she was immensely proud, her grandchildren who were all like precious jewels in her life and her daughters-in-law and her son-in-law who made the family circle complete. The family will receive friends from 5-7PM Sunday, September 10, 2006 at McAlister Smith Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, 150 Wentworth Street, Charleston, with a Rosary to be held a 6:30. The Liturgy of Christian burial will be at 10AM on Monday, September 11, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, James Island.
