AUGUSTA, Ga. - First Sergeant (Retired) U.S. Army Gabriel S. (Tony) Marge 90, entered into rest on Thursday September 7, 2006 at Doctor's Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday September 9, 2006 at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Bill Birch officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the Ceremonial Detachment of Fort Gordon. First Sergeant Marge served the U.S. Army for 26 years, with war time service during WW II Asiatic Theatre, Guadal Canal, Northern Solomon's, South Philippines Libration. He received the American Defense Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal w/ silver clasps, the Presidential -Unit Citation w/ bronze Star Arrowhead -Asia Pacific War, Bronze Star Arrowhead -Philippines Libration Medal, OOC Medal Europe, WWII Victory Medal and the National Defense Ribbon. He was a member of Burns United Methodist Church, American Legion and The Retired Enlisted Association. He issurvived by his wife of 64 years Mrs. Emma C. Marge, son & daughter-in-law SSgt. Retired Wayne A. and Arlene Marge; daughter & son-in-law Mary Ann & Eric Marriott (Vietnam Veteran); Brother Emilio Marge; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.
