WHAT'S THE PROBLEM? A tipster in Aiken County said the street sign on Townsend Street at Seminole Avenue in Clearwater has been gone for more than a year. "If you have to have a maintenance man come to your house, the first thing they tell you is they can't find your street," she said. Fix It went to investigate and at first got lost, too, as there are no street names on signs at the intersection, only state secondary road numbers.
WHO'S RESPONSIBLE? The Roads and Bridges Division of Aiken County's Public Works & Engineering Department is responsible for street signage in the county. They can be reached at (803) 642-1533.
WHAT'S BEING DONE? Roads and Bridges workers thanked Fix It for reporting the problem Wednesday and said they'd check into it and get the sign replaced as soon as possible.
