Joseph "Bo" Lawrence (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. -Entered into rest Saturday, August 19, 2006 at Blair Nursing Home. Deacon Joseph "Bo" Lawrence, 74, of Florida Road. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 26, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. from Beulah Grove Baptist Church with Reverend L. E. Jones officiating. Interment will be in McKinney Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Waynesboro. Deacon Lawrence was native of Burke County, Georgia and a member of McKinney Branch Baptist Church, where he served on the Board of Deacons as assistant Chairman and member of the Women's Missionary Society. He served as Deputy for District 16, FAAY York Rite Mason, Post District Deputy Grand Master Potentate, Paradise Lodge #677 for over thirty (30) years, and the Brotherhood of Good Shepherd Baptist Church. He retired from Castleberry Food Company after forty (40) years of service. Deacon Lawrence organized The Lawrence Gospel Masonic Choir, The Mark Singers and the Antoinette Singers. He also managed the Pee Wee and the Psalmsters. Survivors are eleven daughters, Karen Alexander, Sheila Molane, Sharon "Fruitty" Lawrence, Carol Lawrence, Janice Green, Tei'Ara Lawrence, Tuesday Minter, Bobette (Henry) Bright, Tracy Brown, Zola Brown and Tammy (Milton) Elam; six sons, Joe (Lesbia) Tate, Clarence Lynch, Joseph (Tonia) Lawrence, Nathan (Tonya) Jenkins, Tommy (Tiffany) Brown and Gerald Prince, all of Augusta; one brother, James (Jackie) Lawrence, Augusta; one sister, Francenia (James) Waltower, Waynesboro, GA; one aunt, Mary Lou Tanksley, Fort Myers, FL; forty-four grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren; and a host of god children, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
