Head coach: Russell Schneider (Second year)
Classification: SCHSL Region 4-A
2005 record: 0-8
Four-year record (since 2002): 0-8
Last playoff appearance: None
Returning starters: 11 offense, 11 defense
Key Predators: Senior NG/FB Luke Thomas (6-2, 210); Senior CB/WR Cody Keefe (6-1, 190); Senior QB/FS Jeremy Lacey (6-1, 200); Senior QB/CB/WR Seth Bryant (6-0, 180); Senior TB/LB Chris Ledbetter (5-8, 175)
Offensive attack: Fox Creek will run the spread with Wing-T tendencies. Ledbetter has been a find. He's a newcomer, but already he adds so much in terms of heart and speed. Byrant will see the field because of his versatility. He could see time at quarterback and receiver. Thomas is the team captain.
Defensive keys: Fox Creek is the only team in the area to base out of a 3-3-5 scheme. It seems to fit because of good size in the secondary spots to shore up run support worries. Keefe is an experienced boundary defender. The linebacker spot is one of the strongest positions on the roster.
Thin at: Offensive line
Big game: At Southside Christian, Aug. 25
Different this year: Fox Creek opens its first season of SCHSL region play.
Could go bad if: Offensive line play never comes through.
Great year if: The team can complete a historic trifecta: a victory; a win at home; and a region conquest. All would be program firsts for the second-year school.
