To raise money to assist burn victims, the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation has aluminum-can recycling trailers in the following locations: fire stations at Richmond Hill Road, Windsor Spring Road, Old Waynesboro Road, Walton Way Extension and the two former fire stations on Central Avenue. The Battery Box, 128 Sand Bar Ferry Road in Augusta, (706) 722-5448, takes batteries and lead.

Augusta-North Augusta Regional Material Recovery Facility, 101 Clay Pit Road, North Augusta, 441-4242, takes No. 1 and No. 2 plastics such as drink bottles and milk jugs; clear, brown and green glass food and beverage containers; steel and cardboard.
