Larry Paul Williams (WAYNESBORO, Ga.)



WAYNESBORO, Ga. - Larry Paul Williams, 56, entered into rest at Doctor's Hospital in Augusta on Monday, August 21, 2006. Born in Millen, GA, on September 3, 1949 to the late Lint and Wanette Hayes Williams, he had lived in this area all of his life. He was a farmer and worked in the shipping/receiving department of John Deere. He was a retired veteran of the Georgia Army National Guard. He was a member of Green's Cut United Methodist Church, former member of the Burke County Board of Education where he served for 9 Ú years; he was a member of the Burke County Farm Bureau; past president of the Burke County Young Farmers, graduated from ABAC in 1969 and the University of Georgia in 1971 with a BS in Agriculture and a minor in Economics and was also a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity of UGA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Green's Cut UnitedMethodist Church with Rev. Tom Oliver and Rev. Sam Wilder officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Waynesboro. Pallbearers will be Johnny Lovett, Mike Herrington, Wayne Crockett, Tommy Rowell, Walter "Pee Wee" Bailey, and Jimmy Rowell. Honorary pallbearers will be former members of C Battery 1st 214 GA Army National Guard, Bill Usher and Johnny Jenkins. The family will receive friends at DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home in Waynesboro on Tuesday, August 22, 2006, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. He is survived by 4 children, Haize Williams of Augusta, Paul Browning Williams (Schylea), Jenna Williams, Mallory Williams, all of Waynesboro; one brother, Alan Williams (Melanie) of Beaufort, SC; 3 aunts, Bobbie Odom (the late Eugene Odom), Edna Hayslip, and Betty Oliver (Tom), all of Waynesboro; an uncle, Durwood Hayes (Joyce) of Waynesboro; two nieces, Howell Bryant of Tallahassee, FL and Haley Reed of Louisville, KY, and numerous loving cousins. The family will be staying at the home of John and Debbie MacDonald, 100 Tennis Court Circle, Waynesboro, GA.
