AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Leroy Williams of 9th Ave. entered into rest Monday, July 31, 2006 at the V.A. Medical Center, DD. Funeral service will be held Friday, August 4, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Second Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Angelo Hatcher officiating. Burial will be in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Deacon Williams was a native of Richmond, Co. He was a member of Second Ebenezer Baptist Church where he was a member of the Deacon Board; member of the Union Sons and Daughters Society; He retired from Ft. Gordon after 30 years of service; U.S. Army World War II Veteran. Survivors are his wife, Nellie Williams; two daughters, Martha Fribley, Cleveland Heights, Ohio and Judith (Arnold) Matthews, Jersey City, N.J.; one son, Dea. Leroy (Jacquelin) Williams, Jr., Augusta; sister, Caroline (Rev. Ernest) Rhodes, Augusta; four grandchildren, Warren (Kyra) Kennedy, Atlanta, Tangee Matthews, Jersey City, N.J., Ssgt. Christopher (Erica) Williams, Augusta, Nakeshia Williams, Atlanta, Ga.; seven great-grandchildren, two godchildren, Denise Dorsey and Alicia Walker, Augusta; sisters-in-law, Virginia Jenkins, Dorothy (Rev. Sylvester) Bing, Ella (Dea. Henry) Evans; brother-in-law, Deacon Charlie (Henrietta) Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Remains will lie in state at the church 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Family and friends will assemble at the residence at 1:00 p.m. William Funeral Home, 1765 Martin Luther King Jr., Blvd.
