Hazel Brown Ball (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Hazel Brown Ball, 78, formerly of Dublin, NC, went home to be with her Lord and family who have been awaiting her, on Friday, July 7, 2006 at Portsbridge Hospice. Born in Bladenboro, NC, she was the daughter of the late Morgan and Mazelle Storms. She is pre-deceased by husbands, Marshall Brown and Edgel Ball. Mrs. Ball was retired from the Cumberland County School System as a Cafeteria Manager. She was a member of Crossbridge Baptist Church where she was a member of the senior Citizens (Ripettes) and Senior Friends. She was also a member of Marvin Methodist Church Exercise Group. With an ability to bring joy to all she met, Hazel lived life to the fullest, enjoying her friends and family, traveling and playing canasta with her buddies. She will be dearly missed. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Hurley Jones of Augusta; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Jeanette Brown, Larry and Becky Brown of Fayetteville, NC. In addition to her children are five grandchildren, Nancy, Renee, Angie, Chris and Ashley as well as 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 9, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Brent Dowis and Rev. Tony Christie officiating. Mrs. Ball will be laid to rest at LaFayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville, NC. Memorials may be made to Crossbridge Baptist Church, 3130 Skinner Mill Rd, Augusta, GA 30909 or Portsbridge Hospice, 1365 Interstate Parkway, Augusta, GA 30909.
