NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. John Edward Gambrell, 71, of Swallow Lake Drive entered into rest June 28, 2006 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, July 7, 2006 at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Douglas A. Slaughter officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Gambrell, a native of Anderson, S.C., was a member of Second Baptist Church. He was employed with the Federal Government as a Mental Health Technician retiring in 1995. He was owner of Gambrell's Catering. He was a Poll manager and a member of the Aiken Chapter NAACP. Left to cherish his memory are three brothers, James (Siggie) Gambrell, Matthew (Nancy) Gambrell and Clarence Harris; four sisters, Lula Gambrell Maddox, Mildred G. (Joe) Williams, Patricia G. (James) Greer and Brenda G. (Russell) Boyd; godsons, Dr. Rodney A. Williams and Ryan J. Fleming; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
