AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Lannis Jenkins of Victoria Street entered into rest Thursday, June 22, 2006 at the University Hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 26, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Zion Church with Rev. William Bussey officiating. Burial will be in Walker Memorial Park. Mr. Jenkins was a native of Richmond County, Ga. and a member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church. Survivors are his wife, Lillian Beatrice Jenkins, Augusta; four sons, Gregory (Vernessa) Smith, Carl (Evelyn) Smith, Lannis (Shirley) Smith and Duane (Shalanda) Jenkins, Augusta; two daughters, Sheila (Christ) White, Christal Jenkins, Augusta; two sisters, Mary Jenkins Chavis, Augusta and Bernice (Mike) Utley, North Augusta; four brothers, Wilbur (Victoria) Jenkins, Jr. Terry (Debbie) Jenkins, Ralph (Carlean) Jenkins and Williams (Cassandra) Jenkins, all of Augusta; 13 grandchildren, one great-grand and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family and friends will assemble at 3425 Jonathan Circle at 9:15 a.m. Remains will lie in state at the church 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
