On June 7, 1941 he married his sweetheart LeMargaret Cavaleri. During World War II, Ford served as a Sergeant in the Army Air Force and was stationed in Virginia, Maine and Illinois. Following the war, he began work as an IRS agent in Atlanta and retired in 1978 after 32 years of distinguished service. While an IRS agent, he received several citations for service and participated in several cases, which establishedregulations that remain part of the current tax code. He also served as a board member of the FECU in Atlanta. Upon his retirement, Ford and LeMargaret moved to Grovetown, Georgia where he worked for Pollard Lumber Company. Family members include his loving wife, LeMargaret; son, Michael Ford Lewis (Jane); daughter, Betty Lewis Chavie (Rick); five grandchildren, Tracy Jane Johnston, Elizabeth Ann, Michael Ford II, Jennifer Lindsay and Emily Holmes Lewis and brother Charles L. Lewis. Mr. Lewis was predeceased by his parents, J.C. and Mae Lewis and his sisters, Elizabeth Leyda and Virginia Hamilton. Mrs. Logan was a native of Thomson, Georgia and lived most of her life in Augusta. She worked for over 30 years as a Richmond County Clerk of Probate Court and was a Methodist. Mrs. Logan loved flowers, and her hobbies were gardening and needlework. The family stated that she made the "most beautiful crochet pieces". Family members include her daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Joseph Brown, Jr. of North Augusta, Nancy and Doug Woodruff of Live Oak, FL; son and daughter-in-law, David and Carole Logan of Martinez; grandchildren, Rhonda B. Scoggins, Joseph Buster Brown, III, Shannon L. Dykes, Christopher Laidler, Mary L. Bryant, David R. Logan, Amanda T. Rybiki, Vickie D. Troglen; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; nieces, Billie Wardlaw of Augusta, Bonnie Williamson of Vidalia; nephew, Lloyd Ogburn of Austell and sister-in-law, Frances Schrenk of Edgefield. Mrs. Colapietro was born in Vasto, Abruzzo, Italy but lived her entire life in New York. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Greenlawn, NY where she was a Eucharist Minister. She was also a volunteer at Huntington Hospital, a volunteer at the Red Cross Blood Bank, a Recording Secretary for the Oldfields Seniors Group and a member of the Make-a-Wish Foundation. She was a beloved resident of Paumanack Village. She is survived by sons, Dominic Colapietro of Martinez, GA, Rev. Peter Colapietro of Manhattan, Michael Colapietro of Queens, NY; daughter, Johanna Isaacs of La Jolla, CA; grandchildren, David, Courtney, Peter, Gabrielle, Meleana, Jackson and her sister, Angela D'Annucci.
