Freeman Jones (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Deacon Freeman Jones, Jr., of Rosier Rd., entered into rest Monday, June 19, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 26, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at New Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. James A. Hogan officiating. Burial will be at Southview Cemetery. Mr. Jones, a native of Augusta, retired from Bechtel Construction Co. after 20 years of service. He was a member of New Zion Hill Baptsit Church where he served as a deacon, superintendent of Sunday School and member of the Pastors Aide. Survivors are his wife, Lillie Jones; one son, Freeman C. Jones, Augusta; three daughters, Elaine Hall, Tieleasha Jones, Anitra Jones, Augusta; adopted daughter, Melissa Williams; three sisters, Inez Holmes, New York, Willie Mae Rouse, Connie Gordon, Augusta; two brothers, Robert L. Jones, Gary A. Jones, Augusta; one aunt, Ruth Clinton, Augusta; nine grandchildren, LaFrayna Jones, Quinton Clay, Jalen Jones, Jakobe Jones, Seth Williams, Leonard Moore, Jr., Brandi Ross, Desiree Ross, Princess Ross; one great-grandchild; adopted daughters, Shante Gomillion, Kristen Lewis; mother-in-law, Emily Overton; devoted sister-in-law, Diane Baker; devoted brother-in-law, Joseph Overton; and a host of other relatives.
