AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Francine Tanner Woodard, age 60, of Hickman Road in Augusta, died Friday, June 23 at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital in Augusta. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 27 in the Anmie S. Page Memorial Baptist Church in Riddleville with burial in the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Woodard was a native of Washington County, Ga., the daughter of the late William J. Tanner, Sr. and the late Gloria Dukes Tanner. Ford M. Lewis   (JACKSONVILLE, FL.)
JACKSONVILLE, FL. - Ford M. Lewis, 91 passed away June 22, 2006. He was born on May 19, 1915 in Calhoun, GA. He attended elementary and high school in Calhoun and was recognized as an excellent student and football player. He continued his education and football career at South Georgia College in Douglas, GA and Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, Missouri. In his last year at CBC, he was named Most Valuable Player. Upon completion of his studies in Missouri, he returned to Georgia and worked for The Trust Company of Georgia in Atlanta. On June 7, 1941 he married his sweetheart LeMargaret Cavaleri. During World War II, Ford served as a Sergeant in the Army Air Force and was stationed in Virginia, Maine and Illinois. Following the war, he began work as an IRS agent in Atlanta and retired in 1978 after 32 years of distinguished service. While an IRS agent, he received several citations for service and participated in several cases, which establishedregulations that remain part of the current tax code. He also served as a board member of the FECU in Atlanta. Upon his retirement, Ford and LeMargaret moved to Grovetown, Georgia where he worked for Pollard Lumber Company. Family members include his loving wife, LeMargaret; son, Michael Ford Lewis (Jane); daughter, Betty Lewis Chavie (Rick); five grandchildren, Tracy Jane Johnston, Elizabeth Ann, Michael Ford II, Jennifer Lindsay and Emily Holmes Lewis and brother Charles L.
