Harold N. Cenate (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on June 12, 2006 in Richmond County, Mr. Harold N. Cenate, 83, beloved husband of Jean R. Cenate of Martinez, GA. Mr. Cenate was born in Bartonsville, VT. He had lived in Georgia for over 62 years and in Augusta for the past 13 years. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army where he was assigned to the 43rd Division in the 100th Infantry Battalion (SED) (NIESI), better known as the "One Puca Puca Unit" the most decorated Unit in U.S. Military History. Mr. Cenate was a lifetime member of the VFW. He loved his home and loved being there. Additional survivors include his daughters, Cassie Duncan of Olive Branch, MS, Connie Durham of Augusta and Holly Cenate of Florida; son, Ronnie Cenate of Augusta; stepdaughters, Linda Attaway , Connie Corley and Jeanne Wilber all of Augusta; a number of grandchildren and a sister, Beverly Myhaver of Maine. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Dr. Michael Davenport officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2623 Washington Rd. Suite F-104, Augusta, GA 30904.
