NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Funeral services for Mr. Nathan C. Wilkes, Jr., 81, of Maple Drive, North Augusta, SC, who died June 13, 2006, will be conducted Thursday morning at 11 o'clock from the Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Wilkes was a native of Lincolnton, Georgia, having made North Augusta his home for the past 53 years. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Willie Brown Wilkes, attended True North Church and was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran of World War II. Mr. Wilkes was a retired owner and pharmacist of Edmunds Drug Company. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Nate and Nancy Wikes, Greenwood, SC; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Pete Gillian, Columbia, SC, Ann Wilkes, North Augusta and Jane and Jimmy Jackson, Trenton, SC; six grandchildren, Lauren Schmoltze, Mandy Wilkes, David Wilkes, Lindsay Wilkes-Edrington, Gina Gillian and Geoffrey Gillian; a devoted dog, Willie. Pallbearers will be David Wilkes, Geoffrey Gillian, Warren Smith, Guy Schmoltze, Jimmy Mullan and Mark Grose. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service or at the residence.
