AUGUSTA, Ga. - William T. Poole, of Augusta, entered into rest Saturday, June 10, 2006 at University Hospital. A native of Avera, GA, he was a son of the late Joseph Evans Poole and Clyde Williams Poole, and had lived in Augusta for the last 49 years. Mr. Poole retired from Sweetheart Cup Company after 37 years of service and was an active member of the New Hope Worship Center, where he was a member of the Sanctuary Choir. He enjoyed traveling and singing, and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Myra Newsome Poole; three children, Katrina Poole Burton, and husband Terry, of Evans, GA, Joseph Lawson Poole, and wife MaryHelen, of Thomson, GA, and Sandy Poole Gunn, and husband Al, of North Augusta, SC; three grandchildren, Christian Tyler Burton, Ashton Morgan Burton, and Emily Newsome Gunn; a sister, Audrey Williams of Louisville, GA; and a brother, Donald Poole of Gibson, GA. The funeral will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at the New Hope Worship Center with Pastors Rich Bowen and Bryan Cockrell officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Stan Poole, Larry Cushman, Rodney Connell, Lee Campbell, James O. Gunn and Richard Dixon. Dr. Brent Limbaugh and Robert Willis will serve as honorary pallbearers.
