Donna Michele Kunis (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Donna Michele Kunis of Pierwood Way, Evans, beloved wife of Mr. Herman J. Kunis, Jr. and mother of Joshua M. Kunis, entered into rest Sunday June 4, 2006 at Doctor's Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 8, 2006 in Platt's Belair Road Chapel with Chaplain Hugh Tarcai officiating. Additional survivors include her mother, Gerry Post of Lawrenceville, N. J.; a brother, Michael R. Post and wife, Donna of Ewing, N. J.; a sister, Cynthia Peterson and husband, Christopher of Evans, GA; her mother in law, Rose Ann Kunis of Glen Ridge, N. J.; a brother in law, Dr. Chris Kunis of Niceville, FL; a sister in law, Roberta Kunis of Dallas, TX; her godmother, Loretta Sciarrotta of Hamilton, N. J.; seven nephews, two nieces, a number of beloved aunts and uncles, and two dogs and three cats. Mrs. Kunis was preceded in death by her father, the late Robert Posluszny Post. Donna was a native of Lawrenceville, N. J. She had a zest for life and enjoyed going to Manhattan and Broadway plays. The loves of her life were her son and husband. Just recently, Donna and Herman celebrated their twenty-sixth wedding anniversary. Being very much the beach person, she loved the Jersey Shore and Hilton Head. Donna's heart was larger than life. She did volunteer work for AIDS and also helped the homeless whenever she could. Donna loved her animals, as her cats and dogs had a special place in her heart. As her illness progressed, her goal was seeing her son graduate from high school. While many did not think she could achieve this goal, Donna persevered and surprised everyone. Two weeks ago, she came out of Doctor's Hospital Intensive Care Unit and came home. On the day of graduation, she watched from her wheelchair as her son received his diploma. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 8, 2006 at Platt's Funeral Home on Belair Road in Evans, GA, immediately following the service until 9:00 PM. If so desired, memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, Georgia Chapter, 1800 Lake Park Dr., Suite 101, Smyrna, GA 30080, or the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
