Monique Davis Boyce (PINEHURST, N.C.)



PINEHURST, N.C.- Mrs. Monique Davis Boyce entered into rest on April 8, 2005 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Per her wishes to further medical knowledge and to train students in medicine and dentistry, her body was donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at the Medical College of Georgia. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday morning, June 10, 2006 at 10:30 AM at Summerville Cemetery with the Rev. Gerald Ragan officiating. Mrs. Boyce will be buried next to her husband, Captain Andrew Summers Boyce, United States Navy. A native of Wilmington, North Carolina, she was born on August 24, 1926 to the late Dewey Hobson Davis and Madeleine Pouilliart Davis. After receiving her Baccalaureate of Arts and Master of Arts from the University of Georgia, she taught English and French for many years, including faculty positions at the University of Georgia and Augusta College. She was also a certified United Nations translator. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Boyce was preceded in death by her oldest son, Andrew S. Boyce, Jr. She is survived by her two sons, Ker Boyce IV, and his wife Donna, of Southern Pines, North Carolina, and James Petigru Boyce III, and his wife, Julie, of Kirkland, Washington.
