Sometimes it's just one of those days

Have you ever had a day when every single thing that happened or everything someone did got on your last nerve?

If you have, don't fret, we've all had them. I know I have.

There have been days when simple things such as having a conversation with a person with a lisp just irritated the living daylights out of me. I have friends with whom I converse all the time who have lisps, but some days I just can't stand it.

It must be something with the planets aligning or waking up on the wrong side of the bed that makes those bad days come.

Bad days aside, there are some things that I just can't deal with at all, things that eat at me to the point that I have to make a choice: Either bite my tongue and not say anything, or to say something and risk hurting someone's feelings.

For instance, seeing a young woman walk out of the house and not put a comb to her hair. I mean, did she not realize she would be leaving the house looking a mess? Did she not think that maybe it would have been a good idea to take some sort of pride in what she looks like?

I just don't know what to say to these women, so usually I do the polite thing and hold my tongue.

Another thing that I struggle with is why people wear clothes with the price tags still on them. Lately, we've all seen this trend.

News flash: Nobody wants to know how much you paid for those Girbaud jeans or that LaCoste shirt that you probably got on sale, anyway. You're not showing anybody that you have money; you're only showing that you're dirty or lazy because you apparently don't wash your clothes.

I know you might be thinking that I'm harsh, but I'm not. I go around bothered by these things but I'm rarely rude enough to comment on them. In fact, one of the things that bothers me most is when people make fun of other people.

I get really bothered by those who snicker because she might wear a head scarf, or he might have an odor, or even laugh and whisper because of a person's shape, size and weight.

The people who do this just aren't on my "Just One of Those Days" list, they're on my "This Makes Me Sick" list.

Saying something to help someone is one thing, but doing it just for laughs or to intentionally hurt their feelings is not cool.

Honestly, I've seen enough to know that things don't sit right with everyone all the time. But whether it's a "sometimes" thing or an "everyday" thing, do like I try to do and don't stress too much about it. Everyone can't be perfect and we can't like what we see every day.

We can, however, make the choice to shake our head and hold our tongue.
