WARRENVILLE, S.C. - Entered into rest on Thursday, June 1, 2006, Staff Sergeant Edward Crosby, United States Army Retired, husband of the late Carrie Ellen Sapp Crosby. Born in Statesboro, GA, a son of the late Dan and Wilma Yarborough Crosby, he had been an area resident since 1964. A veteran of both World War II and also the Korean War, he retired from the United States Army in 1964 after twenty-years of service as a Staff Sergeant. Surviving are a son, Robert E. "Bob" Crosby, (Darlene Bolton) Hephzibah, GA; daughters, Mary Elizabeth Hatfield, (Frank) Lapine, OR and Jeannie Hitt, (Frankie) Langley, SC; grandchildren, Jamey Crosby, Barbara Brenner, Mariah Hatfield, Jan Beck, Carrie Harris, Butch Hatfield, Claude Canada, Richard Hitt, and Honey Holtzclaw, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Hatcher Funeral Home, Langley, SC, with PastorMelissa Weathers officiating. Interment with full military honors accorded will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC.
