NEW ELLENTON, S.C. - Mr. Lawson Kendrick, 79, of Ann Drive, New Ellenton, S. C. died May 25, 2006 after an extended illness. Lawson was born on July 10, 1926 to Quinn and Vicie Lowery Kendrick in Cleveland County, NC near Shelby. He was a U. S. Army veteran of WW II serving with the 158th Infantry Regiment during the Philippine campaign and in the occupation of Japan after the end of the war. He returned to Cleveland County NC and worked with his father as a farmer until moving to Aiken County in 1951 when he began work with DuPont at the Savannah River Plant. A resident of New Ellenton since 1954, he retired from DuPont in 1986 after 36 years in the Patrol and Security organizations at SRP. He was a long time member of Foreman Memorial Baptist Church in New Ellenton and the Berea Pals Sunday School Class. He was an avid quail hunter, fisherman, and gardener. He also enjoyed baseball throughout his life, playing as a young man, coaching youth leagues, and following major league baseball later in life. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janett Hendrick Kendrick also from Cleveland County, NC; his son Scott Kendrick(Deanna) of Fort Mill SC, and their children William and Kathryn; his son Dale Kendrick(Suzanne) of Aiken SC, and their children Sarah and Robin; his daughter Jill Kendrick Warrington (Don) of Canton Ga, and their son Lawson. Also, surviving are three brothers, two sisters and their spouses, Edwin and Juanita Kendrick of Shelby NC, Rebecca and W. H. WRIGHTSVILLE, Ga. - It is with heavy hearts but joy in the Lord that we inform you that Harry King Anderson, Jr., of Wrightsville, Ga., passed away on the morning of May 5, 2006, after many months of failing health. Harry was born May 2, 1935 in Augusta, Ga. to Harry King Anderson Sr. and Ann Smith Anderson. His parents and brother, William Thomas of Florence, S.C., preceded him in death. He is survived by his only son, Harry King Anderson III (wife Connie) and three granddaughters, Sarah, Holley and Emily of Glendale, Az. Harry was married to Ruth Holley Harbeson until 1972. He grew up in the Augusta area, served in the Army and Air Force, attended and graduated from Georgia Tech (1962) and spent the later years of his life reaching out and touching the lives of veterans that were fighting substance abuse. He started working at the Veterans Hospital in New Orleans and after many years transferred to Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, Ga., where he retired. He will be missed.
