AIKEN, S.C. - Entered into rest on Saturday, May 20, 2006, Mrs. Annie Mae Broxton Cooper, of 405 Seminole Street, Aiken, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. W. Cooper, (infant son) Bernard Anthony Cooper, a brother, Walter A. "Pug" Broxton, and seven sisters, Fonnie Coleman, Jimmie Rhoden, Sarah Sprouse McNair, Mamie Free, Gertrude Amos, Connie Glinski and Betty Mitchell Trundle. Surviving are three sons, John W. (Connie) Cooper, Lexington, SC, Richard H. Cooper, Aiken, and David G. (Bernie) Cooper, Trenton, SC; a daughter, Jwann Cooper Bonner Day, Aiken, SC; a sister, Donna Broxton Nagy, Burnettown, SC; two brothers, James (Janice) Broxton, Dearing, GA and Louie (Betty) Broxton, Alpharetta, GA; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mrs. Cooper was a daughter of the late Walter Anthony and Ora Bell Harden Broxton. She retired from SCE & G and was a past president of the Aiken Business and Professional Women's Club. Mrs. Cooper was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, Aiken, SC, a member of the Aiken Toastmasters and previously served as a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 2:30 p.m. at Bath Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Bill Branch officiating. Interment will follow in Brothersville Cemetery, Mimms Road,Hephzibah, GA. Pallbearers will be Jason Cooper, Chip Bonner, Matt Cooper, Michael Day, Richard "Bo" Cooper, Adam Jackson Kyle Jackson, Jake Laorenza, Justin Laorenza and Patrick Laorenza. Memorials may be made to Bath Pentecostal Holiness Church, P.O. Drawer H, Bath, SC 29816 or the American Cancer Society, Friends may call on Monday evening from 6 until 8 at Hatcher Funeral Home, U.S. Hwy. No. 1, Langley, SC.
