Catherine B. Day (CARROLLTON, Ga.)



CARROLLTON, Ga. - Mrs. Catherine Barber Day, age 88, of Spring St. Carrollton, GA died Friday, May 19, 2006. Mrs. Day was born in Cordele, GA, on May 19, 1918, the daughter of the late Thomas Jackson Barber and Frances Virginia Barber. She and her brother Jack founded the Purple Martin Gourd Co. in Augusta and she was of the Baptist faith. Dearest to her heart was her undying love for her family. She had lived for the past three years with her daughter in Carrollton, yet Augusta remained her home. Survivors include: daughter, Kaal Day Huggins, Carrollton; grandsons, Jason D. Huggins and his wife, Dana Garrett Huggins, Suwanee, Joel M. Huggins, Suwanee; great granddaughter, Garrett Day Huggins, Suwanee; great grandson, Hampton Davis Huggins, Suwanee; sister-in-law, Myrdie G. Barber, Augusta; nephew and nieces, Preston S. Barber, Jr., Kathy Barrett and Susan Lokey. Besides her parents she was preceded in death her brothers, Preston S. Barber, Sr. and Jack Barber. Graveside services will be conducted Monday, May 22, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. from Hillcrest Memorial Park with Dr. John R. Huggins officiating.
