HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Hilda S. Hastings, 3709 Fairington Dr., Hephzibah, Ga., entered into rest at St. Joseph Hospital in Elmira, New York on May 2, 2006. She had been visiting her daughter at the time of her death. Born in Malone, New York, January 16, 1916, she was the eldest daughter of Harry Seymour and Clara Rivette. She was later married to Gibson Hastings of Malone who predeceased her in 1974. During World War II she worked with the Sun Valley Boot Company sewing combat boots and trigger finger mittens on contract for the Army. She remained with the company over 30-years before retiring to Augusta, Ga. where she had lived for the past 32 years. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Loren (Norma) Nesbit of Central Square, N.Y., Mrs. William (Diane) Kinner of Van Etten, N.Y. and Mrs. Burt(Irma) Kinner of Elmira; three sons, Earle (Shirley) Hastings of Fort Jackson, N.Y., Roderick Hastings of Augusta and Douglas Hastings of Hephzibah; two sisters, Mrs. Niles (Eleonar) Sorrell of Rome, N.Y. and Mrs. Malvern (Lyola) Sutton of Oshawa, Ontario, Canada; two brothers, Darcy Seymour of Fort Pierce, Fla. and Carney Seymour of Rome; 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren. A memorial service was held in New York on May 5, 2006 with interment in the family plot in Fairview Cemetery, Dickinson Center. A private gathering of friends will be held at the home of her son in Hephzibah. In memoriam the family requests a donation be made to the America Diabetes Association.

WARRENTON, Ga. -Mrs. Ruby Wheeler Hinton, age 82, beloved wife of the late Mr. Algie B. Hinton of Brown Circle died Saturday May 6, 2006 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. She was a retired accountant and a member of the First Baptist Church of Warrenton and the Laura Lee Sunday School Class. Her family said, Mrs. Hinton will be remembered as a devoted wife of 55 years and a loving mother. Survivors include, a son, Russell W. (Kim) Hinton, Lawrenceville, GA, and two grandchildren, Wesley Barrett (Tiffany) Hinton, Jacksonville, FL, and Courtney Leigh Hinton, Lawrenceville, GA. Mrs. Hinton was preceded in death by a brother, Frazier Wheeler, and a sister, Annie Jean Bedsole. After the death of her husband she became the owner and operator of Seago Electrical Contracting Services, Inc. until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Augusta. She was also predeceased by her daughter: Terri Seago Usry, her mother: Ruth Hall Adams and her father: Rion Tillman Gantt. Survivors include her daughters: Sheila Seago Taylor (Joe) and Donna Lynn Seago, her sisters: Florie Gantt Ligon (Fred), Adell Gantt Bodie, Vicky Gantt Johnson (Johnny), Vernell Gantt Qualman (Harry), grandchildren: Joseph Taylor, III (Joy), Trace Taylor (Francene), Robyn Leigh Taylor, Jeff Hawkins (Barbara), Christopher Jon Bailey (Amy) and Alison Michele Hamby.
