LaVelle Kirkpatrick (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. -Mrs. LaVelle Pollard Kirkpatrick , 83, beloved wife of the late Mr. Hubert Stone Kirkpatrick , died Saturday, April 29, 2006, at St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at St. John United Methodist Church, 736 Greene Street, with the Rev. Renea Slater officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be former members of the Marion Pierson Sunday School class. Following the service her body will be conveyed to Wade Funeral Home, Hubbard, Texas where services are to conclude on Monday, May 8 with interment in Fairview Cemetery. Born in Hill County, Texas, she spent the majority of her adult life in Augusta. A member of St. John United Methodist Church, her Christian service was an important aspect of her life. A lifelong Methodist, she served in many capacities of the church; Sunday School teacher, Bible Study leader, choir member, Women's Society of Christian service and the United Methodist Women . She was a member of the Porcelain Artist Guild and the winner of many ribbons for her paintings. Survivors include her son C. Stone Kirkpatrick , Richardson, TX ; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond Charles (Brenda) Kirkpatrick, Augusta; daughter and son-in-law Rosa Lee (John) Scott , Denton , TX ; sister Leslie Pollard Sperry, Hubbard , TX; six granddaughters and spouses Alicia Scott (Chip) Wagner, Anna Kirkpatrick Scott, Mary Alice Kirkpatrick, Dee Anne Kirkpatrick (Jeremy) Freeman , Kathryn Marie Kirkpatrick and Faith Trautman (Ryan) Barber; great-grandsons Preston Charles Wagner and Harrison Lee Wagner. She is also survived by many loving nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm. on Tuesday evening at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 1134 Telfair Street, Augusta.
