Mary Chavous Wells (LINCOLNTON, Ga.)



LINCOLNTON, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Chavous Wells, 81 of Moss St., Lincolnton died Sun. Apr. 23 at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Fla. Funeral services will be held, Wed., Apr. 26 at 3 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Butts officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Wells, a native of Augusta, had lived in Lincolnton since the late 1960's. She was a retired post exchange clerk at Ft. Gordon, a member of New Hope Baptist Church, and Homer Legg Chapter #535 Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian C. (Bo) Wells. Survivors are one daughter, Judith Pugh, Jacksonville, Fla.; brothers, George Chavous, Arlington, Texas, Billy Chavous, Manchester, N.H.; four grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
