Helen deBerry Frierson (AIKEN, S.C.)



AIKEN, S.C. - Helen deBerry Frierson, born in Florence, S.C., passed away at the Aiken Regional Medical Center in Aiken, S.C. on April 8, 2006. She was the wife of the late Jack Frierson. She is survived by one daughter, Emily "Woody" Frierson (Carr) of Aiken; two grandchildren, Mr. Loran Cannon deBerry of Ft. Worth, Texas and Dr. Adair deBerry-Carlisle and her husband, Mr. Ben Carlisle of Ft. Worth, Texas; two nephews, Dr. Louis M. Palles, Jr., (Peggy) of Florence and Mr. Stephen Angus deBerry (Pauline) of Florence; a niece, Mrs. Ann deBerry Yarnell of Charleston, and many great-nephews and nieces. Mrs. Frierson was in the Florida Women of Distinction, a past president of the Flowering Tree Garden Club of Tampa, Fla., a member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) a life Flower Show Judge in the State of Florida, a member of the Tampa Women's Club and a prolific author of poetry and children's stories. She was also past president of the Mothers' Association of the Academy of the Holy Name in Tampa, Fla. The most important accomplishment, she felt, in her life was her commitment to Jesus Christ, first, and her love of her family. She was loved and valued as a wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Frierson will be buried at Mount Hope Cemetery, Florence, S.C. at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 13, 2006, officiated by Rev. Jim Hewitt.
