STARKVILLE, Miss. - Bobby Felmy and Jonathan Wyatt each scored a run and had an RBI as Georgia beat Mississippi State 4-2 on Sunday in the rubber game of their three-game series.
Georgia (21-10, 5-7 Southeastern Conference) took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on Felmy's double that scored Wyatt, who had singles. Felmy then scored when John Lalor (2-1) uncorked a pair of wild pitches. In the fourth, a bloop single by Matt Robbins that scored Josh Morris, who had walked and eventually moved to third on a passed ball.
Mississippi State (25-6, 6-5) scored in the fourth when Brian LaNinfa doubled on a ball that centerfielder lost in the sun and later scored on Michael Rutledge's groundout.
State scored again in the fifth on Joseph Hunter's run-scoring single.
Wyatt singled home Matthew Dunn, who doubled, in the seventh.
The victory went to Rip Warren (4-2), who pitched three scoreless innings in relief of starter Trevor Holder.
