Birdie Willis (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Birdie Lee Lowery Weathers Willis, 93, of Regis Ct., Augusta, entered in to rest Sunday, April 9, 2006. Mrs. Willis was predeceased by her husband, Cluese Weathers and son-in-law, Robert E. Pinkston, one sister and a number of brothers, nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at 12:30 P.M. in Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Fred Heard officiating. Family and friends should assemble at the grave. Survivors include her daughter, Helen Pinkston of Augusta; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roscoe and Claudia Lowery of Avondale Estates, GA, James R. and Elizabeth Lowery of Augusta; grandchildren, Robert E. Pinkston, Jr. and Nancy and Robert Szocinski; great grandchildren, Steven D. and Sarah Scott, II and Jordan Pinkston; great great grandchild, Anna Harper Scott. Mrs. Willis, a native of Albany, GA, was the daughter of the late Oscar and Laura Hegwood Lowery. She had retired as a switchboard operator for University Hospital and was a member of the Mize Memorial United Methodist Church.
