Rita Mertins (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Doctors Hospital, Mrs. Marguerite "Rita" Mertins, wife of the late Otto E. Mertins. Mrs. Mertins was born and raised in Augusta. She worked as a dietician for 34 years at Aquinas High School. Mrs. Mertins was a trustee and active participant of White Oak Methodist Campground in Appling, GA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. C.W. Edwards officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Edmunds, Adam Edmunds, Dennis Mertins, Jr., Seth Easton, Jess Harlor and Jose Rivera. Survivors include her sons, Fritz Mertins and Dennis Mertins; daughter, Pamela Edmunds Williams; grandchildren, Stacey Mertins, Amber Harlor, Allen Edmunds, D. Mertins, Jr., Alisha Mertins, Maggie Mertins, Adam Edmunds, Zach Easton, Seth Easton and one great grandchild, Shayna Mertins. Memorial contributions may be made to WhiteOak Methodist Campground in Appling, GA.
