Patricia Craig Efird (GRANITEVILLE, S.C.)



GRANITEVILLE, S.C. - Mrs. Patricia Craig Efird, age 68, of Graniteville, S. C. lost her courageous battle with cancer at her home, surrounded by her adoring family, on Thursday, April 6, 2006. She was the loving wife for 36 years of the late Bennie Ray Efird, Sr. and daughter of the late William Craig and the late Grace Yelventing Craig. She is survived by her sons, Bennie Ray Efird, Jr. and his wife, Deborah of Gloverville, S. C., Johnnie Efird of Langley, S. C. and Guy Efird of Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter, Elizabeth Efird Carl and her husband, Larry of Gloverville, S. C.; sisters, Dolly Reardon and her husband, Billy of Langley, S. C. and Jean Futch of Greenwood, S. C.; and a brother, William "Scrapper" Craig and his wife, Liz of Graniteville, S. C.; grandchildren, Andrew "Andy" Sims of Greenville, S. C., Natasha Sims of Graniteville, S. C., Bennie Ray "Ben" Efird, III of Rogersville, Tn., Heather Efird of Aiken, S. C., Alexander "Alex" Carl and Brieanna Carl, both of Gloverville, S. C. and Adrienne Efird of North Augusta, S. C. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Edmonds. She was born in Palm Springs, Florida, but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County. She retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglas in 1993 after 17 years of dedicated service. She was a lifelong member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and Lorice Kirkland's Sunday School Class. She also served as a Pink Lady Volunteer at the Cancer Care Institute of Carolina. She served on the Board of CanHope Cancer Society. The family stated that she was the greatest mother to her children and grandchildren. It was an honor to be counted as her friend. She was always loving and always loved. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, April 9, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Doss and Rev. Marion Britton officiating. The interment will follow in the Graniteville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Andy Sims, Ben Efird, Alex Carl, Scoot Williams, Greg Gibson and J. C. Hutto. The family will receive friends at the residence on Landis Drive in Graniteville or tonight, Saturday, April 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Napier Funeral Home.
