Clemson edges Maryland in extra innings

CLEMSON, S.C. - Travis Storrer hit a sacrifice fly to score Tyler Colvin in the 11th inning, as Clemson beat Maryland 3-2 at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Saturday.

The Tigers (23-8, 8-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) got two hits each from Brad Chalk, Taylor Harbin, Andy D'Alessio, and Stan Widmann.

Dan Melvin was 3-for-5 for Maryland (14-19, 6-11) and Gerry Spessard added two hits.

Daniel Moskos (3-4) struck out the only hitter he faced to earn the win for the Tigers.

Brett Cecil (4-3) allowed one run on one hit in 1 2/3 innings pitched to take the loss for the Terrapins.
