Marker dedication

A historic marker dedication will be held at noon Tuesday at John C. Calhoun Park, at Georgia and Carolina avenues in North Augusta. Sculpture contest

The Southeastern Regional Sculpture Competition will run through April 23 at Aiken County Historical Museum, 433 Newberry St. S.W. The museum is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Call (803) 642-2015.

Chamber meeting

Wish Upon a Car

The Wish Upon a Car Benefit Car Show will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Aiken Mall, 2441 Whiskey Road. Advance registration is $15; registration the day of the show is $20. Earth Day for kids

Kids Earth Day 2006 will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Lions Memorial Field, W. Buena Vista Avenue, North Augusta. There will be exhibits, a giant Earth ball and a climbing wall. Family treasures

A two-hour workshop about how to care for family treasures will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at Redcliffe Plantation State Historic Site, 181 Redcliffe Road, Beech Island. Horticulture class

A horticulture class for adults will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays at Aiken High School, 449 Rutland Drive. Topics include soil preparation, pruning techniques, plant propagation, safe pesticide use, irrigation and landscape ideas. Several field trips are planned. The class costs $45.
