GROVETOWN, Ga. - Mr. Walter S. Robinson, 72, beloved husband of Betty Robinson, entered into rest Saturday, March 11, 2006, at Doctors Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at Platt's Belair Road Chapel with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. A native of Edgefield, S.C., Mr. Robinson resided in Columbia County for 22 years. He served in the U.S. Army for seven years and retired from Prather Construction after 20 years. He was a life long member of the West Augusta Baptist Church. Survivors other than his wife, Betty Robinson of Grovetown, include four sons, Dale Robinson (Rhonda), Graniteville, S.C., Stanley Robinson (Suzzane), Warrenville, S.C., Russell Robinson (Joy), Grovetown, and Douglas Robinson (Kathryn) of Evans; four daughters, Debra R. Franks (Steve), Warrenville, S.C., Beverly Fuller (Jack), Grovetown, Melanie R. Gee (Mike), North Augusta, and Patsy R. Smith (Iziah) of Hephzibah; six sisters, Polly Watson, Lexington, S.C., Grace Derrick and Nealie Fields both of Trenton, S.C., Irene Hutchinson and Mae Harrelson both of Martinez, and Sue Phillips of Thomson; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Loyd Cliett, Stacey Phillips, Tracy Phillips, Daniel Robinson, Tommy Callahan and Rick Cliett.
