SWAINSBORO, Ga. - Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary announces the death of Margaret Hall Purcell, age 86, of Swainsboro, GA on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be Friday, March 10th, at 11 AM in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Blankenship officiating. Interment will be in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gene Hall, Julian Sconyers, Pete Rountree, Tony Oglesby, Daryl Gray, Ken Purcell. Honorary Escorts will be members of the Agape Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary Thursday evening from 6 - 8 PM. Mrs. Purcell was a native of Emanuel County, retired after 25 years with the Federal Reserve Bank in Jacksonville, FL and from the Emanuel County Tax Accessors Office after 20 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Agape Sunday School Class and a past member of Beta Sigma Phi, Jacksonville, FL Chapter. Survivors are aunt, Grace Kent of Swainsboro, GA; nephews and niece, David and Martha Kent of Swainsboro, GA and Edward Canady of St. Mary's, GA; great nieces, Kathy Jones of Swainsboro, GA, Caroline McMillan of Statesboro and Suzanne Canady of Virginia.
