It's March, a month when wind damage is always a possibility. Here are homeowners' responsibilities as the insured, according to Georgia's Insurance and Fire Safety Commission:

- Report the claim promptly to the insurance company.

- Make reasonable and necessary repairs to protect the home and personal property from further damage.

- Maintain an accurate record, including receipts for labor and material of repair expenses.
