WAYNESBORO, Ga. - Mr. Marion Eugene Nolan, 72, entered into rest Monday March 6, 2006 at University Hospital, Augusta. Mr. Nolan was born in Bennettsville, SC on April 8, 1933 to the late William Percy and Julia Etta Clark Nolan. Mr. Nolan had lived in Waynesboro for the past 23 years. He retired from SRS where he worked as an Engineer. He was a Mason and Deacon Emeritus at First Baptist Church, Waynesboro. He enjoyed serving in the church ministry and the mission trips. He also enjoyed farming after his retirement. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 8, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Waynesboro with Dr. G. Al Wright officiating. The family will receive friends at the church, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., on the day of the service. Mr. Nolan was preceded in death his daughter Debbie. He is survived one daughter, Joan Nolan, Melbourne, FL; four sons, Matthew Nolan and Percy Nolan (Rebecca) both of Waynesboro, Marion"Gene" Nolan (Susan), Robert Glen Nolan of Virginia, Wayne Nolan (Linda) of Alabama. He is also survived by two sisters, Ruby Nolan of Florida, Sarah Nolan, SC; one brother, Lloyd Nolan of Mullin, SC; one uncle, M.P. Nolan of Florence, SC; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
