EVANS, Ga. - Mr. Jack Norman Pittman, Sr., 73, husband of Mrs. Bette Wallace Pittman, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 20, 2006, at Doctor's Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 22, 2006, at Platt's Belair Road Chapel. Additional survivors include three sons, Jack Pittman Jr., and wife, Doreen, David Pittman and Mark Pittman and wife, Susan; two daughters, Missy Ashley and husband, Lee, Susan Fields and husband, David; a sister, Margaret Moore; fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A native of St. Paul's, NC, Mr. Pittman attended Presbyterian Junior College in Laurinburg, NC, and was an elder in the Presbyterian Church of America. He also served as a Chaplain's Assistant in Puerto Rico for four years, and was a member of Cliffwood Presbyterian Church. Mr. Pittman's professional life began as a banker with First Citizen Bank and Trust. At one time Mr. Pittman was the youngest City Manager in the state of North Carolina. Mr. Pittman served as Military Advisor with the U.S. Army in numerous foreign assignments. He received several military awards and honors including the Silver Star. Upon retirement Mr. Pittman remained active in the field of Telecommunications. If so desired, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
